Lutheran Church of Nigeria Youths hold annual conference in Uyo

‘Know the word that sustain the weary’.(Isaiah 50:4) was the theme of the  annual conference of the the Lutheran Church of Nigeria (LCN)  National Youth Fellowship held from 7th August – 9th  at Nung Udoe Ibesikpo district in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

The divine service to mark the official opening of the three- day event was attended by the President of LCN in Nigeria, the Most Rev. Christian Ekong, who also preached the sermon. The NYF chairman, Mr.  Mfonobong Udo,  read the  first lesson on the occasion which also featured songs, prayer sessions, exchange of gifts,  goodwill messages, testimonies and variety night shows.  The grand finale featured the installation of new officers, grand Patrons and Patrons by the LCN president. There was also fund raising towards  youth work in the church.

LWF Africa

The LWF communion in Africa includes 30 member churches in 22 countries, with a combined membership of 14.98 million at the end of 2005. Six churches have a membership over 500,000 and ten churches have fewer than 25,000 members.

The Africa area desk (based in Geneva) accompanies LWF member churches in their holistic ministries through programs and projects that respond to particular concerns of church life in the region and specific priorities identified by the member churches.
